Account Deletion & Data Retention
You can delete your GobbleGo account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app, or by submitting a request at https://gobblego.com/delete-account. When you request deletion, your account is scheduled for permanent removal after a 30-day grace period. If you sign back in during those 30 days, your account is restored and deletion is cancelled. After the grace period ends, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
What we delete
When your account is permanently deleted, we remove your profile and personal data, including:
- your name, username, and profile photo
- your email address and phone number
- your restaurant swipes and votes
- your friends and friend connections
- your saved party presets
- your notifications and device/push-notification tokens
What we keep, and why
Shared activity. Parties and group chats you took part in are shared with other members. We keep these so other members don't lose their history, but we remove your identity from them — your name no longer appears, and content you contributed shows as from a deleted user.
Anonymous usage data. We retain aggregate, de-identified usage and diagnostic data (for example, anonymous analytics and error reports) to understand and improve the app. Before retention, we remove the identifiers that link this data to you, so it can no longer be associated with you or your device.
We do not retain your personal data after deletion except as described above, or where we are required to keep it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
